Barcelona head mentor Ernesto Valverde said Philippe Coutinho was sidelined for the benefit of the group following the LaLiga pioneer's triumph at Eibar.
In spite of being ineligible for Tuesday's Champions League standoff with Chelsea following his landing from kindred last-16 members Liverpool, Coutinho was dropped for Barca's 2-0 win on Saturday.
Coutinho – a €160million marking a month ago – began the goalless draw against Getafe yet cleared a path for Andres Iniesta as objectives from Luis Suarez and Jordi Alba saw Barca level with a club record of 31 diversions unbeaten in LaLiga.
Disclosing his choice to drop Coutinho, Valverde told journalists: "I think it was best for my group to attempt to win.
"A week ago Coutinho began, Iniesta didn't, so this week Iniesta began.
"It's valid that on Tuesday we have another match yet for me the most vital thing was this match.
"On Tuesday, how about we see, I know Coutinho can't play, however we will accomplish something."

In the wake of completion a keep running of consecutive draws, Barca moved 10 focuses clear of second-set Atletico Madrid, who are planned to have Athletic Bilbao on Sunday.
